Missions

The members of Center Church reach beyond its doors with ministries in the community and the world. Among our mission activities are:

  • Urban Ministries of Greensboro
  • Crop Walk for Hunger
  • Pathways Shelter of Greensboro—providing and serving a meal on the fifth Tuesday of the month
  • Co-sponsoring a community blood drive for the American Red Cross
  • Out of the Garden Project of Greensboro (www.outofthegardenproject.com); collecting foods and packing snacks for children in need in Guilford County
  • Packing and delivering flood buckets and providing monetary support for disaster relief efforts of the United Methodist Committee on Relief - UMCOR (www.umcor.org)
  • Assisting financially General Board of Global Ministries' missionary (www.umcmission.org) Vickie Sigmon of Open Arms Community in Winston-Salem and
  • Financially assisting a missionary family stationed overseas
  • Armenia Building Teams
  • Breakfast Burritos - One Saturday each month, a group gathers in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30 on Friday evening to prepare breakfast burritos.  The next morning, a group takes the burritos to downtown Greensboro to feed the homeless.  The date varies, so check the church calendar for this exciting and worthwhile mission endeavor.  We welcome help in preparing and/or serving as well as financial assistance with the ingredients.
