Hi! I’m Samantha Woodroof, the Director of Kid Zone at Center Church. It has been my pleasure to work with Kid Zone at Center Church for a little over a year. I am excited to help Kid Zone grow! We strive to make the center a nurturing place for children. I am originally from Tennessee, (Go Vols!) but I grew up in Greensboro. I moved back to my home town after graduating from University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (K-6) to pursue a career working with children. I love spending my free time outdoors with my dog, Winnie the Poo, bowling with the VF bowling league, and trying new restaurants in the area. Feel free to visit Kid Zone any time. Our doors are always welcoming visitors.
My name is Ruth Pickett and I have been a member of the Kid Zone staff since retiring from teaching in 2013. I work as the fourth and fifth grade homework/summer camp teacher. One of the best parts of working at Kid Zone is getting to know our children and families. I love having the opportunity to see our children grow and change as they progress through our program year after year. I currently live in Rockingham County and enjoy reading, yoga, and volunteering at Center Church as a Sunday school teacher and leader of Center’s Young Believers children’s program. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the Kid Zone ministry.
Hello! My name is Allison Carey and I'm a teacher at Kid Zone! I'm currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. I've been working at Kid Zone since August 2016 and have loved every minute! I work with the kindergarten and 1st grade students, but I enjoy working with and getting to know all the children at Kid Zone! Outside of Kid Zone, I'm usually studying, but in those rare times when I have nothing to do, I like to sew, watch Netflix, spend time with friends, and go out to eat or cook a meal with someone!
Hello, my name is Madison Elliott! I became a Kid Zone teacher after working with their summer camp and volunteering during my senior year of high school. I attend Rockingham Community College and am planning to transfer to Appalachian State University. I aspire to receive a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. It has always been a dream of mine to have an impact on children's young minds. I spend my free time with my family and my boyfriend, reading, watching movies, and exploring the outdoors.
